This meeting report summarizes the main discussion points, key takeaways, and recommended priority actions of the 2nd regional Maternal Nutrition and Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) meeting in Nairobi, Kenya. This meeting was a collective effort of the members and partners of the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies (HMHB) Consortium, hosted by the Micronutrient Forum, alongside Kenya’s Ministry of Health (MoH), Division of Nutrition and Dietetics to advance maternal nutrition and the provision of MMS to pregnant women in the African continent. 18 African countries, namely Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia participated in this meeting. Country delegations were accompanied by their development partners, and the meeting featured distinguished panelists and speakers mainly drawn from the region to discuss the maternal nutrition and MMS agenda and propose a framework for action for Africa.
