10 March 2022 – Today, the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Consortium completes one year, and to mark this occasion, HMHB has released a video of the highlights of its first year.
Since its launch one year ago, on 10th March 2021, following the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Accelerator, HMHB has grown to include almost 90 members, both individuals, and organizations, from around the world, working in the field of maternal nutrition and health.
This video captures the collective achievements of the Consortium members in the Year of Action on Nutrition. These actions are aligned with HMHB’s mission to accelerate the adoption of multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS) in low- and middle-income countries. Through the A-B-C approach of Advocacy, Brokering Knowledge, and Convening, the Consortium has successfully advanced a compelling and evidence-driven new agenda on the transformative potential of MMS.
While the past year focused on elevating maternal nutrition and MMS within the broader women’s nutrition and equity agenda, the coming year will prioritize regional and national level advocacy efforts, brokering knowledge on MMS evidence and implementation to stakeholders at the country level, and convening experts from diverse fields around technical topics related to MMS to address gaps and build consensus.
The Micronutrient Forum is proud to host the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Consortium. As members, you are the driving force for our work. Together, we can and will improve the lives and futures of millions of mothers and babies. I look forward to an exciting year and am honored to have you be a part of the Consortium.
