3 June 2024 – The Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation Technical Advisory Group (MMS-TAG) hosted by the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Consortium (HMHB) has released a two-page brief offering new insights into MMS during pregnancy.
This brief meant to equip advocates, implementors, and national actors, presents the latest consolidated evidence on the benefits of MMS compared to iron-folic acid supplementation (IFAS) on pregnancy and birth outcomes, iron content of MMS vs. IFAS, recommendations on providing MMS alongside anemia treatment during pregnancy, and cost-effectiveness of MMS along with links to useful resources.
