30 November 2021 – In advance of the Tokyo’s Nutrition for Growth Summit in December, the Micronutrient Forum, along with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation organized a special event, Powering Women-Promising Futures on women’s nutrition, health, and equity on Tuesday, November 30, from 9:00-10:30 am ET. The Summit presented a historic opportunity to shine a light on women’s rights to health and nutrition and drive bold, new, and transformative thinking, investments, and actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals on nutrition and gender equality.
About the Event
This virtual event was moderated by SUN Movement Coordinator Gerda Verburg and featured senior government leaders from countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Peru, and Burkina Faso, the UN along with civil society, gender and nutrition experts, and youth advocates who brought women’s nutrition to the forefront and who committed to key actions to accelerate women’s nutrition and equity.
